  • Yoontae Lee obtained his PhD in biological sciences from Seoul National University under supervision of Dr. V. Narry Kim. During his PhD period, he discovered how microRNAs are generated and identified key factors, such as Drosha and DGCR8, in microRNA biogenesis pathway. He did his postdoc training in Dr. Huda Y. Zoghbi’s lab at Baylor College of Medicine from 2007 to 2011. Since 2011, he is a professor in Department of Life Sciences at POSTECH. His research has been focused on functions of a transcriptional repressor Capicua in terms of regulation of lymphocyte development and differentiation and cancer progression.
